A collision with a tree at night has caused devastating effects for several, particularly the driver of the car. The car accident happened just before 10 p.m. and has taken the life of the driver. Three passengers were injured in the accident which occurred in New York.
The 20-year-old driver was headed north at the time he left the roadway. When he went off the road, the car collided with a tree. It is unclear at this point why he left the road and hit the tree.
One person in the vehicle was ejected due to the crash. There were two other passengers inside who became trapped. Rescuers had to cut the metal of the vehicle to free the two trapped passengers. All three of those passengers were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Even though the driver who caused this car accident died at the scene of the crash, an investigation will still try to pinpoint a reason behind the collision. Once a reason is known, the injured victims may have rights in a New York civil court. Those injured passengers may still be able to pursue a personal injury suit against the estate of the driver who caused the crash if they so wish. If successful, those passengers may garner monetary damages which may be necessary as they face medical bills, lost wages and other possible financial losses due to the actions of the driver.
