Chaotic scene reported at site of New York car accident

On Behalf of | Apr 21, 2015 | Car Accidents

A rental truck, car and a school bus were all recently involved in an accident, creating a hectic scene on the streets of New York. The car accident led to many being transported to hospitals as police worked to reconstruct the multi-vehicle car accident. According to reports, the tragic scene unfolded due to the actions taken by a rental truck driver.

The rental truck initially hit a car in the roadway. Then, a school bus was hit. This caused the rental truck to crash through a food store front located in Queens.

A customer was trapped underneath the vehicle when it crashed through the store front. That person and the rental truck driver were transported to a hospital for medical care. Also, one child was reported to be badly injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment. In all, the scene resulted in 31 people being taken to area hospitals, 24 of whom were children, presumably on the school bus. The store front also sustained considerable damage as did the school bus.

The badly injured child and the store customer were innocent victims in this car accident and may have suffered injuries that could easily result in mounting medical bills. While the crash is being investigated and reconstructed, the injured parties may be able to pursue legal action in a New York civil court. In the case of any injured children, the parents would typically pursue any legal claims on a child’s behalf for reimbursement of damages sustained. A claim for financial relief, based upon evidence of negligence, may result in a monetary judgment for damages that could prove beneficial as the injured parties struggle to deal with bills and other losses related to the car accident.
