Chain reaction car accident causes injuries in New York

On Behalf of | Aug 19, 2016 | Car Accidents

A recent collision in New York involved four vehicles and left several people injured. The car accident is said to have occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 13. It is unknown if any criminal charges are pending against the driver deemed responsible for this incident.

The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Cross Bronx Expressway, near Webster Avenue. A portion of this road was apparently blocked for construction, requiring drivers to merge. In total, two tractor trailers and two cars were involved in this collision.

According to reports, the driver of an SUV apparently failed to slow down and hit another passenger car. A chain reaction then occurred involving the other vehicles on the roadway. Three people in the SUV were hurt in the wreck, one of whom is said to have suffered critical injuries. All of the injured parties were transported for medical treatment. The exact nature of their injuries was not described.

At this time, it is unknown if the driver of the SUV is among those who were injured in this car accident. His or her passengers, though, may have to deal with mounting medical bills, lost wages and other financial and emotional burdens related to being victims of this individual’s actions. Those who were injured may be able to pursue legal actions in a New York civil court in an effort to seek monetary relief for any losses they have experienced. If litigation proves successful, any judgments awarded could help the victims throughout their recoveries and as they work to move forward.
