Car accident in New York injures three people

On Behalf of | Apr 26, 2016 | Car Accidents

Police are currently investigating a car wreck that involved two vehicles. The car accident happened early in the morning and led to a road closure. Three people needed medical attention at New York hospitals after it was all said and done.

The crash unfolded as two cars collided on the roadway. The car accident wreckage was in the northbound lane, but it is unclear what direction both cars were headed in at the time of the accident or who hit whom at this point. One of the vehicles also caught on fire at some point after the crash.

Rescue personnel responded to the scene and put out the fire as they extricated a crash victim who was in the vehicle. One of the accident victims needed to be transported from the scene to a hospital via airlift by MedEvac helicopter. Two other victims needed medical attention after the crash also. However, the severity and nature of injuries suffered by the three victims was not specifically reported.

A comprehensive investigation into this car accident may help New York authorities determine a cause and if either driver was culpable for the injuries suffered by any of the three victims. If an investigation shows one party acted negligently or recklessly behind the wheel, the injured victims may have certain legal avenues that they can pursue if they so choose. In a civil court, the injured parties may be able to file a personal injury suit and recoup the monetary cost of the car accident, such as medical bills and lost wages.
